The last few steps across the grass before the sands of Long Bay at Cambridge Beaches squished between our toes. No two palm trees are the same and even when I paint the same one from a different angle, it offers surprises. The interplay of “flats” and “sharps”, positive and negative space, was what drew me to this composition. The generous span of each umbrella was dwarfed by the close up bay grape leaves.
